i hate canned tuna

i am typing this with a ginormous bandage and splint on my right ring finger (lucky it wan't my left. no one wants that scar in wedding photos) it's hard ti type like this and i realize i have taken the so called "weakest finger" for granted my whole life. sorry ringy. so today at work iwas put in charge of making chicken salad and as i was ready to dump a can of chicken into a bowl it somehow slipped slicing open the upper region of the birdy finger and continuing into the middle area of the ringy (as i now affectionately call it) i didn't know how much fingers bleed or how quickly. it was slightly tramatic. well, mom to the rescue rushed me to instacare (thank-you workers comp) and glued- luckily not stitched- me back together and here i now sit writing this post. and did i mention i love sidenotes in parenthesis?

not as it seems

i kept thinking i was going to write. i had plenty write about but as usual i never got around to it. i guess sitting here thinking i'm pondering that things so often are not what they seem. for example on of my favorite bands played in salt lake last week, iron and wine. they are great! kind of a folky mellow sound that i love. plus as everyone knows, i love beards. well, here's the thing with a free concert. since people don't have to shell out the minimum 20 bucks a ticket, morons that don't care about the music attend. i spent about 90% of the evening unable to see. that is understandable and at times common if your not very tall. the problem is that i spent about 75% of the evening unable to hear. "WHAT?!?" you say. "you were at a concert, isn't that the point?" yes it is my friends, but apparently everyone else went to be seen and socialize. so i learned that free concerts aren't necessarily free. but thinking about this topic aren't there also people that present this wonderful exterior that they are what we want and need in our live when in fact they are full of empty word and promises. this is terribly common but more over just terrible. the great this is though, that the opposite is often true and when we first see someone we might think that this is someone we could never take seriously, depend on, fall in love with, work with or spend time with and then they turn out to be the most wonderful, lovely people we will ever know. so here's to you free things that rock (iphone apps and sample days at costco) and more importantly those of you i've come to love so much even if you look weird.

why?

i will start by saying i rarely capitalize. i can't think of who it is right now (ernest hemingway?) that didn't use apostrophies when using a conjunction to save time. i'm not sure if i'm actually saving time by not using the shift key, but i like to think i am. remember folks, time is money. well, every name i wanted to use for this blog was taken. i would like to think that i'm whitty and original, but apparently i am not. i'm pretty sure i'll get over it. well, i find that i have opinions (i LOVE it or hate it alomost imediately and in almost all cases) and a little random (or a lot). sounded like the good beginnings of one of these so called blogs. we will see how it works out- i might hate it. one more warning, i can no longer spell...enjoy.
